Ingredients

I have a lot of people convo me in my Sweetly Done Etsy shop and ask about the fondant I use and the ingredients, so to same myself some time I have creating a blog post all about it!

First off, I use all pre-made fondant. I do this for a number of reasons but most importantly it is consistent. Second, I use three different types of fondant-the reason is just personal preference.

So here we go:

List of ingredients:

Wilton Pre Made fondant:

Sugar, glucose syrup, hydrogenated vegetable oil (palm and rape seed), water, clycerine, tapioca starch, gum tragacanth (emulsifier), carboxymethyl cellulose (thickening agent), artificial flavoring, sodium acetate (preservative), acetic acid (preservative)

Satin Ice:

Sugar, corn syrup, palm oil, natural & artificial flavorings, gum tragacanth, glycerine, cellulose gum, modified corn starch, potassium sorbate, acetic acid, colorings

Duff:

Sugar (sugar cornstarch), partially hydrogenated palm kernel oil, whey soy lecithin, artificial flavor, sugar, cornstarch, water, high fructose corn syrup, salt, vanilla, butter flavor, carboxymethyl cellulose, gum Arabic, vegetable glycerin, colorings

(Contains milk and soy)

Royal icing:

Meringue powder, water, powdered sugar

Other:

Cornstarch, powdered sugar, water

Thanks!

What to do!? What to do?!

Well, I recently had an order-a rush custom order go unpurchased! Usually I don't make anything until I have recieved payment-but I made an exception this time...and well...I ended up not getting payment!
So, what to do? What to do?
The pieces were a cake size princess castle and carriage, so super cute I couldn't just let them go to waste! So one day this past week we made a cake! I think it is way cute, I wish it was my birthday cake! Since it wasn't for anyone specific my husband, son and daughter all got to help-oh and how they loved to help make it and sneak little bits of all the frosting and chocolate rocks! My husband ended up taking it to work-because honestly there is no way my little family could eat a three tired cake-we love cake-but that is just way to much cake!
So check out the next two posts to see the cake and its details!

The Castle and Carriage Cake

The whole cake!

Castle and Carriage Cake

Fondant Green Trees and chocolate candy rocks sit next to a stream of blue buttercream icing-yum yum.

The whole thing! The top cake is the bottom of a giant cupcake mold-in a dark chocolate cake, the middle is a moist yellow cake 8in round, and the bottom is just a chocolate cake 10in round cake.

What princess wouldn't want to attend a ball at this beautiful castle? Or ride in the delicate carriage?
